For a limited time (17th March 2008 to 17th July 2008) standard radiometric determinations will be charged at NZD450 per sample.

For the remainder of 2008 we are re-introducing the "buddy incentive scheme", whereby if you recommend any new client who submits 10 or more radiocarbon dates (standard radiometric or AMS), we will given them 1 free date as well as giving you 1 free date on your next batch of 10 or more samples (this offer is only valid untl the 24th December 2008). Please note: samples must be submitted as a single batch.

Please note:

The charges include standard pretreatment procedures and stable isotope analysis (13C/12C).

Batches of less than 5 completed radiocarbon results from overseas will incur an additional NZD35 charge. This is an inspection fee levied by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) on all samples coming into New Zealand.  We have absorbed these costs for several years, but can no longer continue to do so for small batches. If all samples in a batch are unsuitable for dating, we reserve the right to charge an inspection fee of NZD50 plus the MAF fee of NZD35.

All samples that have undergone pretreatment and subsequently found to be unsuitable for dating, or abandoned for another reason, may incur a part charge. Typically, this is NZD100 for pretreatment and NZD200 for pretreatment and combustion, but charges may vary depending on the sample type. Please read our pages on sample weight requirements, and if you are unsure about the suitability of your sample please contact us.

*N% analysis is undertaken to as a preliminary test of bone suitability for dating. If the bone is found to be unsuitable we charge NZD50 to cover the cost of this test.
